The cross with a ladder and tools, common in the courtyards of many Arequipa churches, represents a mix of Inca and Catholic symbolism 
There was the Tuturutú with its sonorous trumpet, directed towards the Sun, spilling streams of crystalline water, as a sign of irrigation and joy in the center of Arequipa’s Plaza de Armas
