Western Trails – July & August 2021
We went to the US for several family events and in between the festivities we hiked in some of our favorite areas.
Fish Creek (California) – Jerry has many fond memories of hiking and camping over the years in this San Gorgonio Wilderness area. Our son joined him on this day of adventure near Angeles Oaks.
Blair Lake (Oregon) – We love the spring and summer flowers in the meadows beside and above Blair Lake, so we were eager to return to this picturesque spot about an hour from Oakridge. When we arrived in the morning the air was a bit smoky from distant forest fires. Fortunately the air was mostly clear by the time we completed our hike.
Bobby & Waldo Lakes (Oregon) – Our friends Heidi and Eric spent the day with us as we hiked to the very clear waters of Bobby Lake and meandered around the Shadow Bay end of Waldo Lake. We encountered very few mosquitoes at both lakes, a summer rarity! No, we didn’t bring our canoe that day. But we had fun remembering our many boating, swimming, and camping adventures at the lakes.
